The Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider is set to serve as the backbone of America’s strategic bombing capability from the 2030s likely until the end of the century.
B-21 Raider Design
The B-21 Raider features a stark resemblance to its predecessor, the B-2 Spirit, which was also produced by Northrop Grumman. There are a few notable differences, but the overall look of the design is very similar.
B-21 Raider First Flight
While a date for the B-21 Raider first flight hasn’t yet been released, the aircraft is currently expected to enter service in 2025. Given typical aircraft development timeframes, the new stealth bomber will likely take to the skies for the first time sometime in 2021.
